Born on 5th Nowember 1928 in Upper Silesia.
In 1945 he was admitted to the Secondary School of Plastic Arts in Cracow, graduated in 1947. The same year he started studying at the Department of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He studied in prof. Eugeniusz Eibisch’s prof. Jerzy Fedkowicz and prof. Waclaw Taranczewski’s ateliers, graduating in 1953.
The remarquable exhibitions of artist’s works started with his participation in Young Plastic Arts exhibition "Arsenal", in 1955 in Warsaw. Since then he has organised more than ten individual exhibitions. He took part in several group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He won numerous artistic prizes and awards.
In 1997 he won the first prize for the painting "Thearte" at the all- Polish Competition for the painting work under the auspices of U.N.
For several years he has performed a function as a President of Painters’ Council in District Menagement of Z.P.A.P. in Katowice.
He was member of "Arkat" group in1965 -1967.
His works can be seen in the collections of the Museums in Wroclaw, Szczecin, Bytom, Gliwice, The Silesian Museum in Katowice, "Zacheta" Society in Warsaw and in many private collections in Germany, U.K. Sweden, Holland, Canada, the U.S.A. France and Australia.
In January 2008 he received honourable distinction - Silver Medal GLORIA ARTIS
